He was addressing the residents of the area today on the occasion of participating in the football tournament organized with the support of NRI brothers at village Chak Guru of Garhshankar in the district.
Speaking in the presence of Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Jai Krishna Singh Rowdy, the Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab government is emphasizing on bringing more and more youth into the field of sports. He said that in order to promote sports, while tournaments are being organized at the grassroots level from time to time by the non-resident Indians, the Punjab government is also infusing new energy in the youth through 'Khedan Watan Punjab Ki'. He said that while sports strengthen us physically, they also protect us from deadly diseases like drugs.
Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal blessed the players and said that the Punjab government is leaving no stone unturned in the all-round development of the youth and is providing all possible facilities to the players in the field of sports. He praised the diaspora Indians for supporting this football tournament and assured that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan will leave no stone unturned to take Punjab forward in every field. Deputy Speaker Jai Krishna Singh Rowdy said that it is a matter of great joy that the non-resident Indians of this village have built a stadium here by donating land. He said that while promoting sports, the Chief Minister Punjab has also increased his budget from Rs 50 crore to Rs 250 crore, with which many problems will be solved at the ground level. SDM Garhshankar Preetinder Singh Bains, Avtar Singh, Kashmir Singh and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
