Patiala, October 30: The Punjab Police has arrested its own senior constable who used to supply mobile phones, opium and other goods to jail inmates and convicts at high prices. This constable named Jaspal Singh was in contact with the inmates and convicts of Patiala Jail for the last two years. Yesterday, when he came on guard duty in the jail, 27.5 grams of opium and a touch phone were seized from him when he was searched. After the statement of a jail official, a case has been registered against him at Tripari police station. The constable's house was also searched where apart from 13 Jarda packets, ear phones and four charging cables were also found.
