
1082 crores for paddy has been paid to the farmers in Patiala district
More than 5 lakh 59 thousand metric tons of paddy reached the mandis of the district
Patiala, October 25 - As fast as paddy is arriving in the mandis of Patiala district, paddy is being purchased by the purchasing agencies. Giving information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that 5 lakh 59 thousand 508 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the mandis of the district till last day and out of this 5 lakh 52 thousand 124 metric tons of paddy has been purchased. He said that payment of Rs 1082.80 crore has also been made to the farmers of the purchased paddy.
The Deputy Commissioner said that 245119 metric tons of paddy has been purchased from Pangrain, 126674 metric tons from Markfed, 108016 metric tons from Pansp, and 72315 metric tons from Punjab State Warehouse Corporation.
Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni appealed to the farmers to prefer using in situ techniques for stubble management in order to prevent diseases caused by polluted environment.
