
Election Commission approves proposal of 1786 polling stations in Patiala district: Sakshi Sahni
Patiala, October 20- District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that the proposal sent by the district administration for rationalization of 1786 polling stations in 8 assembly constituencies in Patiala district has been approved by the Election Commission of India.
Patiala, October 20- District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that the proposal sent by the district administration for rationalization of 1786 polling stations in 8 assembly constituencies in Patiala district has been approved by the Election Commission of India.
Sakshi Sahni said that a proposal is sent to the Election Commission by rationalizing the location of the polling stations according to the population, according to which the proposal to establish 1786 polling stations established earlier in the district has been approved by the Election Commission.
The District Election Officer said that after rationalization according to the Vidhan Sabha constituency of the district, 226 polling stations in Nabha (reserved for Scheduled Caste), 258 in Patiala Rural, 201 in Rajpura, 210 in Ghanoor, 272 in Sanur, Patiala Vidhan Sabha The proposal to set up 182 polling stations in the constituency, 232 in Samana constituency and 205 in Shutrana (reserved for scheduled caste) constituency has been approved.
The district election officer further informed that the work of special cursory correction of photo voter lists in the district is starting from October 27. Under this, the claims and objections are to be received by 9 December 2023 and after settling these claims and objections by 26 December 2023, the final publications of the voter lists are to be made on 05 January 2024.
Apart from this, as per the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, special camps are to be organized at all the polling booths on November 4, 2023 (Saturday), November 5, 2023 (Sunday), December 2, 2023 (Saturday), December 3, 2023 (Sunday), where BLO's From 9:00 am to 5:00 pm sitting at their polling booths from the general public/applicants form. 6, 6b, 7, 8 are to be obtained.
