The NSS unit of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh, in coordination with Department of Transfusion Medicine PGIMER, Chandigarh today on 19th October, 2023 organized the biannual Blood Donation Camp (BDC) at Centenary Hall, PEC, Chandigarh.

The event was graced by our chief guest, Dr. Suman Singh, Director of Health Services, Chandigarh and she was honored with a memento, graciously presented by Dr. Baldev Setia, Director of Punjab Engineering College.

Prof. Baldev Setia, Director, PEC interacted with the donors, he also reassured the leading team of Dr. Suchet Sachdev and Dr. Harikrishan of Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, that this collaboration will continue and remain intact. He appreciated the donors and the organisers for enthusiastically participating in this noble cause of blood donation.

The event's coordination was aptly overseen by Professor Jaimala Gambhir, the Officer in Charge. The distinguished gathering also included notable dignitaries such as Professor D.R. Prajapati, the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Achitanand Dubey from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Professor Sandeep Kaur from the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The camp witnessed active participation from students, faculty and staff of PEC, who volunteered to donate blood.

A total no.of 210 units of blood was donated during the event.

The session ended with a vote of thanks by volunteers of NSS-PEC.

This event's resounding success is attributable to the dedication of the organizing committee, the tireless work of medical professionals, and the boundless enthusiasm of the volunteers who wholeheartedly contributed to making this endeavor a reality.
