Patiala, October 18 - Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni's guidelines and Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Gurnam Singh Under the able leadership of , Block Patiala Agriculture Officer Dr. Avninder Singh Mann and Ramandeep Kaur, Principal of Government Senior Secondary School Kalyan, organized an awareness rally at village Kalyan to create awareness about the conservation of paddy straw.
During this awareness rally, the villagers were made aware by raising slogans of "Do not set fire to mother earth, fulfill the duty of good sons" about not setting fire to paddy straw. On this occasion, painting and speech competitions of school children were also conducted in which Mehakpreet, Gurveer and Pinky won first, second and third place respectively in painting.
Apart from this, Anshu, Harleen and Harshpreet Singh won first, second and third place respectively in the speech competitions. Meanwhile, Dr. Avninder Singh Maan asked the students to convey the message to their parents and relatives about not burning straw. During this school level competition, Agricultural Development Officer Dr. Ajaipal Singh Brar and Jaspinder Kaur informed the children about the dangers of burning stubble. School principal Ramandeep Kaur congratulated the students who got the prize and asked the rest of the students to participate more in these competitions.
