Patiala-Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni honored the progressive farmers of Patar sub division of Patiala district by visiting their fields.

Patiala-Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni honored the progressive farmers of Patar sub division of Patiala district by visiting their fields. On this occasion, he had a special meeting with the farmers at Hamjhari and Jogewal villages who did not burn the paddy stubble and adopted crop diversity and made a way for other farmers and appreciated the work being done by the farmers to save the environment.
Speaking on this occasion, Sakshi Sahni said that other farmers should take guidance from the farmers who dispose of stubble with in situ and ex situ techniques and adopt crop diversification to increase their income and work for the cleanliness of the environment. He said that the farmers who manage stubble are our heroes who think first about the harm caused to people by rising above their benefits. On this occasion, he also specially visited the fields of farmers cultivating vegetables at village Hamjhari.
Sharing their agricultural experience, the farmers of Hamjhari village said that they have fertilized their land by plowing straw in the fields, due to which even now they have to use fertilizers and sprays in the fields as compared to other farmers. He invited other farmers to plow the straw in the fields and use it as fertilizer.
