Priyanka Gandhi inspected the disaster affected districts in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, September 12 Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra arrived in Himachal Pradesh today, where she visited the flood-affected areas of Mandi and Kullu districts. Meanwhile, Priyanka also inspected the ongoing relief and rehabilitation works in these areas.

It may be mentioned that flash floods and landslides due to torrential rains wreaked havoc in Kullu and Mandi districts on July 14 and 15.

Priyanka Gandhi arrived at Kullu's Bhuntar airport this morning. During his visit, he received flowers from local women and discussed with Congress workers and local growers about apple production, transport, rates of boxes. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh were also present with Priyanka.

According to the State Emergency Operations Center, since the onset of monsoon on June 24 to September 11, the state has suffered a loss of Rs 8,679 crore. There, 260 people lost their lives in rain-related incidents. Chief Minister Sukhu estimated the loss at Rs 12,000 crore in the state. He has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to declare the disaster in Himachal as a national disaster.
