Giving information about the decision taken in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that on the occasion of Onam and Rakhi, the government has decided to give LPG cylinders to all cooking gas consumers at Rs 200 cheaper. have decided He said that with this decision of the government, there will be a burden of 7680 crore rupees on the government exchequer in 2022-23. Anurag Thakur said that the cabinet has also decided to give free gas connection to 75 lakh women. These women will not have to pay even a single rupee to get LPG connection. He said that the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana are already getting a subsidy of Rs 200 on every refill but after this reduction the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will have to pay Rs 400 less on every refill and they will get Rs 400 cheaper cylinder.
