A bus of pilgrims leaves from Garhshankar for the darshan of Sri Salasar Dham and Sri Khatu Shyam Ji.

Garhshankar December 20 - Under the 'Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme' launched by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Deputy Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Jai Krishan Singh Rowdy today visited Shri Salasar Dham and Shri Khatu Shyam ji.

Garhshankar December 20 - Under the 'Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme' launched by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Deputy Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Jai Krishan Singh Rowdy today visited Shri Salasar Dham and Shri Khatu Shyam ji. The bus was flagged off. On the occasion of dispatching the bus of pilgrims from Garhshankar to Sri Salasar Dham and Sri Khatu Shyam, Deputy Speaker Mr. Rowdy said that with the initiation of this scheme, the people of Punjab will be able to travel to visit various pilgrimage sites across the country. The facility is free. He said that under this scheme, the expenses of the passengers going on the journey will be borne by the Punjab government, which includes all the expenses of their travel, stay and food. He said that doing religious pilgrimage will strengthen people spiritually. The Deputy Speaker said that under this scheme, pilgrimages will be made to the holy place Sri Hazur Sahib (Nanded), Takht Sri Patna Sahib (Bihar), Varanasi, Ayodhya and Vrindavan (Uttar Pradesh), Sri Ajmer Sharif (Rajasthan). Apart from this, pilgrimage to Sri Anandpur Sahib, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Sri Salasar Dham, Sri Khatu Shyam Ji, Mata Chintapurni Ji, Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, Mata Jawala Ji etc. places will be conducted. He said that arrangements have been made for daily buses and trains from different places of Punjab to travel to these pilgrimage places.
While greeting the pilgrims, Jai Krishna Singh Rowdy said that the state government has arranged two types of means to go on this pilgrimage. He said that the means of travel for long distance religious places will be by train and the means of travel for short distances will be by road through AC buses. He said that the 'Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme' is proving to be a boon for the people who are deprived of visiting major religious places of Punjab and India due to old age and economic hardship. He said that a budget of Rs 40 crore has been kept for this special scheme of the state government during the financial year 2023-24.
On this occasion GM Punjab Roadway Hoshiarpur Depot Jasbir Singh, Dr. Apart from Jang Bahadur Singh, Charanjit Singh Channi, OSD Harjinder Singh Dhanjal, Gurbhag Singh Khuralgarh Sahib, Paramjit Singh Tarun Arora, other dignitaries were also present.
