The BSP leaders said in their address that the chita business is increasing day by day in Hoshiarpur and the police administration is not able to take strict action due to political pressure. Along with this, the general public is also being looted in private de-addiction centres.
This morning, when BSP workers started gathering in large numbers, the police administration SP Sahiba Navdeep Kaur, DSP City Palwinder Singh, DSP Dipkan Singh, SHO Sadar, SHO City reached there with their police team to meet the workers and assured the BSP workers that no leniency will be shown against those selling chitta. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone caught selling narcotics/chitta. SP Sahiba Navdeep Kaur instructed the officers on the spot that if anyone complains about a chitta seller, take immediate action and put him in jail. She also asked to take strict action against de-addiction centres in Hoshiarpur.
