The National Security Act (NSA) case against Khadur Sahib Member of Parliament Amritpal Singh and his fellow film actor Daljit Kalsi was heard today (Wednesday) in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Meanwhile, the court asked the Punjab, Central Government and Dibrugarh Jail on what basis the period of NSA has been extended against the two accused. The court said that the entire record should be presented in the next hearing. Now the next hearing of this matter has been fixed on October 3.
Let us tell you that currently Amritpal Singh and Daljit Singh Kalsi are locked up in Dibrugarh Jail. A petition has been filed on behalf of both saying that it is wrong to reimpose NSA on them. He has described the action taken against him as unconstitutional. They have been away from their state, relatives and people for more than a year and a half. Their life and liberty have been taken away in an unusual and cruel manner.
It may be remembered that Amritpal Singh contested Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate from Khadur Sahib Lok Sabha seat. He did not campaign even for a day and he was in jail but still he won without campaigning himself.
