
With the support of philanthropic personalities, BDC's commitment to children suffering from thalassemia has gained strength.
Nawanshahr - The executive committee meeting of the local BDC was held under the chairmanship of SK Sarin. The proceedings of the meeting were started by Secretary JS Gidda. In the meeting, Dr. Ajay Baga BTO informed that when the human body does not produce enough blood, that person is considered to be a thalassemia sufferer, then the blood given by a medically healthy person is transfused to the thalassemia sufferer.

BDC Blood Center releases tested blood of the respective group on a priority basis to such victims without testing fees. Eight thalassemic children are registered with the institute. A child receives free blood services from this institution in a year, free of test fees of around twenty thousand rupees. This news is very encouraging that the philanthropic personalities have shown interest in providing financial support to help the children.
It was unanimously decided by the meeting that the help for Thalassemia victims will be continued as before. Which has been further strengthened by philanthropic personalities including Dr Vishwa Mohini Dharamshala Pravesh Kumar (Om Cut Piece). SK Sarin, JS Gidda, PR Kalhia, Anju Sarin, Dr. Ajay Bagga, Rajinder Kaur Gidda and Manager Manmeet Singh were present in the meeting.
