Another opportunity for farmers to get agricultural machinery on subsidy from the Punjab government till September 19-Deputy Commissioner

SAS Nagar, September 13, 2024:- The Punjab Government has given another opportunity till September 19 to the farmers and groups to get agricultural machinery on subsidy for in-situ (inside the field) and ex-situ (outside the field) disposal of paddy straw and other crop residues in the state. SAS Nagar, September 13, 2024:- The Punjab Government has given another opportunity till September 19 to the farmers and groups to get agricultural machinery on subsidy for in-situ (inside the field) and ex-situ (outside the field) disposal of paddy straw and other crop residues in the state. Giving this information, Deputy District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Ashika Jain said that earlier in the first opportunity given by the government during the year 2024-25, 161 farmers/groups who applied online in the district have been given for the purchase of agricultural machinery on subsidy for in-field and out-field management of straw to bring the incidents of paddy straw fire to zero level. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain, while giving information about the availability of machinery in the district, said that till last year 1178 subsidy based machineries have been made available in the district. He said that this season, a target has been set to bring the incidents of paddy stubble fire to zero level, which needs the cooperation of all parties to achieve.

He said that under another opportunity given by the Punjab Government under the CRM (Crop Residue Management) Scheme, farmers/groups willing to purchase agricultural equipment for proper management of stubble can submit their application online at https://agrimachinerypb.com.

The above portal can be submitted till 5 pm on 19 September 2024.

The Deputy Commissioner said that under this scheme, private farmers (50% subsidy) and custom hiring centers (80% subsidy) such as panchayats, farmer producer organizations, registered farmer groups and cooperative societies can apply. He informed that the applicant farmer should have his own or family tractor and he has to deposit Rs 5000/- online as token money which is refundable.

He said that farmers who want to apply individually must have J-Form of paddy of last season. He informed that under this scheme, farmers can apply for subsidy on tractors of 60 horsepower or more (for groups only), Super SMS, Happy Seeder, Smart Seeder, Paddy Straw Chopper, Mulcher, Rotary Slasher, Reversible Plough, Zero Till Drill, Super Seeder, Surface Seeder, Baler, Rake and Crop Reaper. He said that for more information about this scheme, they can contact the Chief Agriculture Officer of the district or the Agriculture Development/Extension Officer of their constituency.
