
Chetan Singh Jaudamajra honored 150 farmers who did not burn stubble
Patiala, September 6 - Punjab Information and Public Relations Minister Chetan Singh Jodhamazra today on the occasion of 'International Day of Clean Air for Blue Sky' has called upon the people to plant trees for a clean environment. Cabinet Minister Jodhamazra today felicitated 150 farmers having less than two acres of land who do not burn stubble at a district level function organized by Punjab Pollution Control Board and District Administration Patiala at Thapar University.

Cabinet Minister Jodhamazra today felicitated 150 farmers having less than two acres of land who do not burn stubble at a district level function organized by Punjab Pollution Control Board and District Administration Patiala at Thapar University.
He was accompanied by Chairman Punjab Mandi Board Harchand Singh Burst, MLA Gurdev Singh Dev Mann and Deputy Commissioner Shaukat Ahmed Pare. Jodhamazra said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has taken several concrete steps to improve the environment in the state. Jodhamazra cited the example of the industry set up in Samana for making pellets from stubble and said that the industry of using stubble as fuel and for other purposes is being set up on a large scale across Punjab.
He also expressed satisfaction that in the last season, farmers have set fire to less stubble as compared to previous years. And he hopes that due to the efforts being made under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the stubble will not rot at all in the coming season. He also invited the farmers to ensure planting of as many saplings as possible on their fields and motor stations. On this occasion, Chairman of Improvement Trust Nabha Surinderpal Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner (R) Kanchan, ASP Vaibhav Chaudhary, Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Babandeep Singh Walia, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Environmental Engineer Gurkaran Singh of Punjab Pollution Control Board and many other officers of the district were present.
