A fine of Rs. 4,05,580/- was imposed by the State Tax and Excise Department, Una, during checking in Amb and Gagret areas.

District Una - According to the information given by Deputy Commissioner State Tax and Excise, District Una, Mr. Vinod Singh Dogra, during the special checking done recently at the departmental check post Gagret and Amb area, various vehicles were inspected under the GST Act. And in three cases, when goods were found without bills, action was taken as per rules for violation of the above Act.

Lead and mobile phones were caught at the investigation check post Gagret, on which the department took strict action and imposed fines of Rs. 2,18,880/- and Rs. 34,200/- respectively and recovered the same on the spot.

The departmental checking team comprised of Mrs. Rashmi Devi, ASTEO and Mr. Jaswant Singh, Assistant.

In another case, a team of Mr. Amarjit Singh, ACSTE, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, ACSTE, Mr. Baljit Singh, STEO, Mr. Nirdesh Kumar, ASTEO and Mr. Ankush Chauhan, ASTEO caught goods without bills during checking in Amb area, on which strict action was taken and fine of Rs. 1,52,500/- was imposed and recovered the same on the spot.

Giving further information, Mr. Vinod Singh Dogra said that the department is keeping a close watch on the goods being brought from outside the state. I
He informed that under Section 31 of the GST Act, it is mandatory to issue a bill on sale of goods worth more than Rs. 200 and E-way Bill is mandatory for transporting goods worth more than Rs. 50,000/-.
