
DC calls upon Panchayat representatives to work promptly to give new dimensions to development
Una, September 3 - Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has called upon all the representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions to work diligently to give new dimensions to development in Una district. He stressed that it is essential for the Panchayat representatives to have complete information about government schemes, so that they can provide the benefits of these schemes to maximum number of people in their area.
Una, September 3 - Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has called upon all the representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions to work diligently to give new dimensions to development in Una district. He stressed that it is essential for the Panchayat representatives to have complete information about government schemes, so that they can provide the benefits of these schemes to maximum number of people in their area.
He said these things during the inaugural session of the refresher training program organized in the auditorium of the Zila Parishad on Tuesday. This training program will run till September 18, in which representatives of gram panchayats of all the development blocks of the district will participate in a phased manner. On the first day, panchayat representatives of development block Amb were trained.
The Deputy Commissioner said that this training is being given to the Panchayat representatives to make the benefits of the schemes being implemented by the state government and the district administration reach the general public. During this, the Panchayat representatives were given practical knowledge about the solutions to the problems faced in implementing the development works. Along with this, they were also provided information about the important provisions of the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act) and POSH Act (Protection of Women from Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act).
During the program, under the campaign 'Ek Paudha Maa Ke Naam', the Deputy Commissioner planted an Amla plant in the Zila Parishad Una premises and also distributed Amla plants to all the Panchayat representatives. He called upon all the Panchayats to contribute to environmental protection by planting as many trees as possible, so that the coming generation can get a clean environment. The Deputy Commissioner especially emphasized on connecting the young generation and people at the Panchayat level with this campaign, so that more and more trees can be planted.
District Council Chairperson Neelam Kumari, District Panchayat Officer Neelam Katoch, Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Meenakshi Rana, Panchayat representatives from development block Amb and other dignitaries were present in the workshop.
