
Administration is committed to provide prompt solution to the problems of single women: Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal
Una, August 29 - Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, expressing his full commitment towards the welfare of single women, directed all the departments to ensure quick resolution of the problems and complaints related to these women on priority basis. The Deputy Commissioner gave these directions while presiding over the Ekal Nari Grievance Redressal Camp organized at Bachat Bhawan in Una on Thursday. This camp was organized in collaboration with Ekal Nari Shakti Sangathan and Ekal Nari Krishi Sahakari Sabha, in which women from four blocks of the district - Amb, Una, Gagret and Haroli participated.
Una, August 29 - Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, expressing his full commitment towards the welfare of single women, directed all the departments to ensure quick resolution of the problems and complaints related to these women on priority basis. The Deputy Commissioner gave these directions while presiding over the Ekal Nari Grievance Redressal Camp organized at Bachat Bhawan in Una on Thursday. This camp was organized in collaboration with Ekal Nari Shakti Sangathan and Ekal Nari Krishi Sahakari Sabha, in which women from four blocks of the district - Amb, Una, Gagret and Haroli participated.
In the camp, women presented their problems to the Deputy Commissioner, who listened to them carefully and assured them of appropriate action. Various issues were discussed, which included financial assistance for children's education, inclusion of names in the BPL list, installation of solar lights, problems in getting ration from the depot, financial assistance for house repairs, providing land for construction, problems in making Aadhar card and BPL card. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to resolve these problems immediately.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that the district administration is working with full readiness to include single women in the women welfare and upliftment schemes of the state government and to provide them maximum benefits. He also gave information about the 'Samarthya' program of the district administration, under which the administration has decided to bear the expenses of higher education of needy girls from poor families. In the first phase of this program, the administration will provide financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh for education to 25 needy girls of the district.
Under this scheme, only those girls will be eligible whose father has passed away or who are more than 70 percent disabled, whose annual income is Rs 50 thousand or less, and who have not taken benefit of any other scheme. In the second phase of the scheme, efforts will be made to increase its scope, so that more and more needy girls can get its benefit.
On this occasion Municipal Council President Pushpa Devi, State President of Ekal Nari Shakti Sangathan Nirmal Chandel, District President Kanta Sharma, District Program Officer Narendra Singh, DFSC Rajeev Sharma, CDPO Kuldeep Singh along with members of Nari Shakti Sangathan and Ekal Nari Krishi Sahakari Sabha Ghaluwal and officers of various departments were present.
