Livestock counting will be done using GPS system in Una district, work will start from 1st September

Una, August 30 - Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that livestock census work will be started in Una district from September 1 through GPS system. The main objective of this census is to collect accurate information of livestock population in the district, which will play an important role in planning and successfully implementing policies and schemes related to livestock development.

Una, August 30 - Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that livestock census work will be started in Una district from September 1 through GPS system. The main objective of this census is to collect accurate information of livestock population in the district, which will play an important role in planning and successfully implementing policies and schemes related to livestock development.
The Deputy Commissioner was presiding over the training program organized by the Animal Husbandry Department for departmental officers under the 21st Livestock Census 2024 in Una. After the program, he said that this census will help in proper allocation of funds and resources by collecting data of livestock population and rural-urban details. Also, by collecting information about various breeds, the work of their conservation and improvement will also be strengthened.
Along with this, the Deputy Commissioner also assured to provide funds for sterilization of stray dogs in the district and to provide dartguns to catch stray animals. He directed the officials of the Animal Husbandry Department to make special efforts to connect farmers with milk committees, which will not only increase the milk production capacity but will also increase the income of the farmers. He directed the departmental officials to organize awareness camps for animal breeders and self-help groups.
During the program, Deputy Director Dr. Vinay Sharma gave detailed information about various schemes being run for livestock through PPT.
Assistant Directors Dr. Dinesh Parmar, Dr. Aju Vyas, Dr. Rakesh Bhatti, and senior veterinary officers of the district were also present on the occasion.
