
Beware of giving false information on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
Chandigarh (Paigam-e-Jagat): Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against Panchayat Secretary Santokh Singh posted at Block Development and Panchayat Office, Fazilka, Sarpanch Mahla Singh of village Saide Ke Hithar, District Fazilka and another person Mukhtiar Singh of the same village on the charge of embezzling a grant of Rs. 1,20,000 received from the Centre under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Chandigarh (Paigam-e-Jagat): Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against Panchayat Secretary Santokh Singh posted at Block Development and Panchayat Office, Fazilka, Sarpanch Mahla Singh of village Saide Ke Hithar, District Fazilka and another person Mukhtiar Singh of the same village on the charge of embezzling a grant of Rs. 1,20,000 received from the Centre under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that during the investigation of the complaint received in this regard, it was found that the said accused Mukhtiar Singh was allotted five marla panchayat land by the state government to build his house. In which he had already built his house in this five marla plot, but despite this, he illegally received an amount of Rs. 1,20,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
He further said that the accused Sarpanch Mahla Singh and Panchayat Secretary Santokh Singh, despite knowing that Mukhtiar Singh has his own pukka house in the village, did not accept the grant. In collusion, the self-declaration form of the said illegal beneficiary Mukhtiar Singh was verified and he was declared eligible under the said scheme. Giving further information, he said that on the basis of this investigation, a case has been registered against all the above accused in Ferozepur Range under section 13 (1) A and 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and section 409 of IPC. The Vigilance Bureau has registered a case under 467, 468, 471, 120-B and further investigation is going on in this regard.
