In this, work on 154 projects costing about Rs 975 crore is going on at a fast pace, while new work on 10 projects worth Rs 450 crore will start soon. In this, work on 154 projects costing about Rs 975 crore is going on at a fast pace, while new work on 10 projects worth Rs 450 crore will start soon. Chief Engineer of Jal Shakti Department Anju Sharma visited Una district on Thursday and reviewed the progress of development works. Anju Sharma held a meeting with the officials of the Jal Shakti Department and reviewed the progress of each development project under construction in the district point-wise and gave necessary guidelines to the officials to complete the works quickly. During this, all the officers of the department including Superintending Engineer Naresh Dhiman were present.
The Chief Engineer said that as per the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Mukesh Agnihotri, who is in charge of the Jal Shakti Ministry, work is being done in a planned manner for strengthening drinking water, irrigation and sewerage facilities in every district of the state for the convenience of the people. In this series, the Jal Shakti Department is making efforts to complete the work of various projects being built in Una district on time and to start the further proposed schemes as soon as possible.
Chief Engineer did field visit
After the meeting, Anju Sharma visited Bathu-Bathdi and took stock of the damage caused to the drinking water scheme due to the floods last Sunday. She inspected the embankment work of Saranala in Panjawar at a cost of Rs. 7.22 crore, embankment of Khad in Athvain at a cost of Rs. 3.35 crore and embankment work being done in Khad village at a cost of Rs. 6.90 crore. She also saw the progress of the projects to provide drinking water facility for the administrative building being constructed in Balibal under the PGI Satellite Center and Bulk Drug Park project. She inspected the work of the circle office building of Jal Shakti Department being constructed in Rampur at a cost of Rs. 3.26 crore and the rest house under construction in Haroli at a cost of Rs. 6.21 crore. She also took stock of the beautification work of the lake at Pubowal at a cost of Rs. 2 crore.
fast pace of development
Anju Sharma said that 48 projects worth about Rs 498 crore are underway to improve drinking water facilities in Una district. Rs 245 crore have already been spent on these. With the help of ADB, work is being done on 19 drinking water projects worth Rs 140 crore. Apart from this, a water storage tank of 25 lakh litre capacity is being built in Amrali.
He said that to provide better irrigation facilities to the farmers in the district, work on 61 projects worth Rs 187.34 crore is going on at a fast pace. So far Rs 70 crore has been spent on these. Apart from this, two major irrigation projects worth Rs 120 crore, Beet Area and Kutlehad Phase-II have been sent to the Union Jal Shakti Ministry for approval. He said that work is proposed to expand, renovate and modernize the lift irrigation scheme of Bhibour Sahib by spending about Rs 90 crore.
Apart from this, work of lift irrigation project in various panchayats under Haroli area is proposed at a cost of Rs 79.61 crore and lift irrigation project in Pandoga area of ??Haroli at a cost of Rs 21.98 crore. Rs 29.44 crore will be spent for lift irrigation scheme from Govind Sagar lake for various villages of Gram Panchayat Lathiani, Budhan and Dhungli under Bangana. Irrigation water distribution system will be strengthened on 8 khads in Amb area - Paloh Suri khad, Suri Rapoh khad, Amb Tilla khad, Rapoh khad, Jawar khad, Ghuman khad, Kurluhi khad and Sohari Takoli khad by spending Rs 23.13 crore. Rs 7.30 crore will be spent on flood control works to protect agricultural land, property and population in village Amb and Rs 4.66 crore will be spent on flood control works to protect agricultural land, property and population in village Badaun.
He informed that work is being done on 5 sewerage schemes in the district at a cost of Rs 60.44 crore. Sewerage system work is being done in Una, Santoshgarh, Mehtpur, Gagret and Chintpurni. So far Rs 50.73 crore has been spent on this. At the same time, work on drainage system is proposed in Santoshgarh city and nearby five villages Ajoli, Sanoli, Binewal Poona, Majra and Malukpur at a cost of Rs 76.82 crore.
