Una, August 5 - The State Tax and Excise Department Una inspected various vehicles during special checking at the departmental check post Gagret and adjoining areas a few days ago. During the inspection, action was taken as per rules under the GST Act when gold/silver jewellery and iron scrap were found without bills in two cases.
Una, August 5 - The State Tax and Excise Department Una inspected various vehicles during special checking at the departmental check post Gagret and adjoining areas a few days ago. During the inspection, action was taken as per rules under the GST Act when gold/silver jewellery and iron scrap were found without bills in two cases. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner State Tax and Excise Una Vinod Singh Dogra. He said that the total value of gold/silver jewellery caught during the investigation is Rs 5,30,295 and the value of iron scrap is Rs 2,22,000. He said that the department took strict action and imposed a fine of Rs 1,11,740 which was recovered on the spot. ASTEO Narender Pathania, assistant Balkrishna and driver Jitender were involved in this special checking from the department's side.
Vinod Singh Dogra said that the department is keeping a close watch on the goods being brought from outside the state. He said that under Section 30 of the GST Act, it is mandatory to issue a bill on the sale of goods worth more than Rs 200. Apart from this, e-way bill is mandatory for transporting goods worth more than Rs 50 thousand.
