Garshankar, August 4 - The driver of the truck was seriously injured in a collision between a truck and a tipper at 4 am in the morning at Chandigarh Chowk here. Officials from Garshankar police reached the spot and pulled out the trapped truck driver and took him to the government hospital for treatment.
The condition of truck driver Surinder Singh, who hails from Mohali district, was said to be out of danger but critical.
This truck carrying Bharat gas and cylinders from Chandigarh side was going to Hoshiarpur side and as soon as it reached Chandigarh Chowk, it hit directly into the tipper going from Garshankar to Nawanshahr side. Due to this collision, the passenger of the tipper was also injured.
It has to be mentioned that due to lack of proper arrangement of any kind of lights in Garshankar's Chandigarh Chowk, there is a fear of accidents happening here in the late morning. Despite the question being raised many times, the local administration does not pay attention to this aspect due to which people's life and property are always in danger.
