Nawanshahr - Red Cross Addiction and Rehabilitation Center Nawanshahr organized an anti-drug awareness camp at village Barnala Kalan as part of "Nsha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan". The camp was presided over by Mrs. Narinder Kaur (Sarpanch). On this occasion, Mr. Chaman Singh (Project Director) while addressing the large gathering shed light on the history of Red Cross in detail.

On this occasion, Mr. Chaman Singh (Project Director) while addressing the large gathering shed light on the history of Red Cross in detail. And told about the life of Sir Henry, the founder of the Red Cross, that he used to serve the wounded in war by applying ointment. Jinnah established the Red Cross for the welfare of humanity, while also giving detailed information about the activities of the Red Cross.
He said that in today's era, drug addiction is a serious problem of our country and the youth of Punjab are also getting trapped in the mire of drugs day by day. Due to Punjab state being rich, the drug mafia has exploited it. He appealed that in today's time it is very important to give information to the youth about drugs, so that no youth gets stuck in this mire knowingly or unknowingly.
He said that youth addiction to drugs is also the reason why parents do not pay attention to their children these days. Due to which the fear of children is disappearing, what comes in their mind, youths are getting stuck in the mire of drugs even by mixing in bad company. He said that due to Derabad, the number of youth addicted to drugs has increased in Punjab. The use of narcotics is becoming common in many religious places. He appealed to the parents that we should pay special attention to our children, connect the youth with the history of our brave warriors, gurus and pirs, and tell the children about each holiday in detail so that the youth remembers their warrior. Learn about the martyrdoms and follow the path described by them. He also shared detailed information about the terrible diseases caused by the use of drugs. He also mentioned about the physical, social, mental and economic damage caused by the use of drugs
On this occasion Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur (Councillor) while addressing the gathering informed the people about the facilities and activities of the center and said that we should take care of our children around us. So the evils found in the society can be avoided Keep the body healthy with a balanced diet which will also keep the mind healthy and if any youth is caught in this drug like disease then he should be encouraged to join the center for treatment. He gave detailed information about the treatment of patients at the center.
On this occasion Mr. Harparbhamhal Singh while addressing the gathering expressed his views and said that today's youth are getting stuck in the mire of drugs. Keeping humanity at the forefront, it is our primary duty to save our youth to make them aware of drugs so that they can stay away from drugs. Mr. Ajit Singh also presented his views and thanked the Red Cross team and assured that they will continue to conduct awareness camps in the future. Rachpal Kaur, Gurnam Singh, Harpreet Singh, Dhyan Singh, Kashmir Kaur, Jasvir Kaur, Amarjit Singh and other villagers were present on this occasion.
