Patiala, July 30 - Last night, the driver of a Swift car escaped while injuring a constable of the Punjab Police at the police checkpoint in the Urban Estate area. When this car was signaled to stop at the bridge, the driver of the car (PB 11 DC 4864) sped away, constable Mandeep Singh was injured while trying to stop him. The police have registered a case against the unknown driver of this Swift car. According to the police, there was a black film and a red light on the car. ASI Baljinder Singh along with the police party had blockaded Urban Estate Phase 2. The car had a red light and all the windows of the car were also black. Despite being signaled by the police to stop, the driver drove away at a high speed.
When constable Mandeep Singh tried to stop the vehicle, the vehicle hit him, due to which the constable was injured. According to SHO Gurpreet Singh Samrao of Urban Estate Police Station, the owner of the vehicle has been identified and he is a resident of Sanur, but who was driving the vehicle is being investigated.
