Hoshiarpur - An important meeting of District Grievance Redressal Committee was held at District Administrative Complex Hoshiarpur under the chairmanship of Technical Education, Industrial Training, Higher Education, Language and School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. Meanwhile, Cabinet Minister Punjab Brahm Shankar Jimpa, Member of Parliament Dr Raj Kumar Chabewal, Deputy Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha, MLA Sham Churasi Dr Ravjot Singh, MLA Urmur Jasveer Singh Raja Gill, MLA Dasuha Karambir Singh Ghuman and Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal were also present.
Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains, who is the Chairman of the District Grievance Redressal Committee, said that the purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of development works in the district. He said that continuous efforts are being made by the Punjab government for the all-round development of the state. Meanwhile, the present Cabinet Minister Jimpa, Deputy Speaker Rowdy and all MLAs also got information about the progress of the works of various departments.
Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains while giving information said that for the development of government schools in all 7 assembly constituencies of Hoshiarpur district, Rs 7 crore (Rs 1-1 crore per assembly constituency) is being given. During the meeting, he obtained detailed information about the various development works of the district and sought the progress report from the concerned officials.
Meanwhile, he reviewed the working of Education Department, Public Works Department, Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Mandi Board, Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Industries, District Program Officer, Food and Civil Supplies Department as well as police and other departments. . He said that strict steps should be taken to strengthen law and order in the district and strict action should be taken against drug traffickers to curb drug addiction.
Harjot Singh Bains requested all officials to work together in team spirit and give priority to the development of the district. He also asked to ensure that there is transparency and quality in all the ongoing development works in the district. He said that it is his priority to make the district a leader in the fields of technical education, industrial training, higher education, language and school education.
He directed the officials to pay special attention in these areas and ensure high quality education and training facilities for the students. He thanked all the officials for their commitment towards the development of the district and said that such meetings will be held every month, so that the development work of the district can be continuously monitored.
