Garhshankar - The Ex-Servicemen Social Welfare Trust Garhshankar organized a function to celebrate the silver jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar in collaboration with the college. On this occasion Captain Amarjit Singh Gulpur, Subedar Kewal Singh Bajjal General Secretary, Subedar Sukhjinder Singh Fatehpur, College Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira, Vice Principal Prof. Lakhwinderjit Kaur, ANO Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Jaswant Singh Bhathal Shere Punjab on this occasion. Kisan Union Garhshankar and others offered flowers of respect to the martyrs of Kargil.
 On this occasion, Subedar Kewal Singh Bajjal while throwing light on Kargil Day said that we all need to take guidance from it. He said that there is a need to inculcate the spirit of patriotism in the youth of the area by making them aware of the history of Kargil Vijay Day. College Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira said that the history of Kargil War is a source of inspiration for all of us. He said that with the support of the Trust, such events will be celebrated on a large scale in the future so that a sense of patriotism can be instilled in the students. On this occasion, NCC cadet Jaspinder Kaur also gave an address regarding Kargil Vijay Day.
The college also honored the NCC cadets on this occasion.
