
Teams from 20 districts participated in the 9th Punjab State Gatka Championship organized by the Federation of India.
Hoshiarpur:- The 9th Punjab State Gatka Championship was started on 22nd July by Punjab Gatka Association (recognized Punjab State Gatka Sports Council and Punjab Olympic Association) under the able leadership of Gatka Federation of India, dedicated to the 450th anniversary of Guru Amardas Ji's Joti Jot Divas and 450th anniversary of Guru Ramdas Ji's Gurgaddi Divas, at Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sri Guru Nanak Charan Sir Bhikhowal, in collaboration with Gatka Association District Hoshiarpur and Baba Zorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Gatka Sports Club Hoshiarpur.

During this championship, the prize distribution ceremony of the three-day boys' championship was organized. Giving information in this regard, Gatka Association District Hoshiarpur President Vijay Pratap Singh said that the prize distribution ceremony of the boys' group of the 9th Punjab State Gatka Championship was organized in a very different style. During the prize distribution of these competitions, Akali Dal District Hoshiarpur President Lakhwinder Singh Lakhi participated as the chief guest. At the same time, Bhupinder Singh SS Med City Baljinder Singh Toor General Secretary Gatka Federation of India attended as a special guest. And he thanked Bhagat Baba Santokh Singh and Avtar Singh Manager Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sri Guru Nanak Charansar Bhikhowal, Baba Satinder Singh Kila Atalgarh Amarjit Singh Department Head Sant Baba Bhag Singh University Professor Sarabjit Singh Professor Prabhjot Singh for conducting this championship smoothly and said that the Referee Council of Punjab Gatka Association has performed its duty very well and where 20 different districts participated in the 9th Punjab State Gatka Championship and won medals in various events.
At the same time, in the Under Boys competition, Ludhiana district won the first place and Bathinda district won the second place and Tarn Taran district won the third place. On this occasion, Sachnam Singh, Hardeep Singh, Jashandeep Singh, Balraj Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Iqbal Singh, Kamal Singh, Sandeep Singla, Shubham Sahota, Raghbir Singh, Manvinder Singh technical in-charge, Manvinder Singh, Rajveer Singh, Rajveer Kaur Sukhdeep Singh Inder Kaur Harmanjot Singh, Harpreet Singh, Parminder Singh Hoshiarpur, Gurmeet Singh Cheema, Samandeep Kaur etc were present.
