Chandigarh July 26, 2024:- Today, Kargil Shaurya Diwas was organized in the Sanskrit Department of Punjab University, Chandigarh. At the beginning of the program, Prachi, Supriya, Divyam sang the song Vande Bharat Mataram. On this occasion, Head of the Department Prof. Ritu Bala from Sanskrit Institute, Sadhu Ashram, Hoshiarpur was also present. Expressing her views on the Indo-Pakistani War, she said that in this war our brave soldiers sacrificed their lives fighting valiantly and won the Kargil War. She said that we should fight against injustice not only on the border but everywhere. Head of the Department Prof. Virendra Kumar Alankar said that when Pakistan attacked us in 1999, their soldiers were on the peak and our brave soldiers were on the ground, but still without caring for their lives, our soldiers displayed their bravery and won. Prachi, a student of the department, gave detailed information about the Kargil War of 1999. Department's student Divyam recited a poem, department's research student Ritu recited the song 'Ae Mere Pyare Watan' and research student Sandeep from Dayanand Chair expressed his views on the Kargil war. Department's teacher Dr Vikram Ji recited a poem and Dr Tomir Ji sang the song "Shat Shat Naman Bharat Bhoomi". Department's teacher Dr Sunita Ji said that even though our brave soldiers are not physically present among us today, they achieved martyrdom fighting for the land of Bharat, but they are still alive among us in the body of their fame. The entire program was conducted by Dr Vijay Bhardwaj Ji.
