This statement was made by Additional Deputy Commissioner (R) Rajeev Verma while addressing the meeting organized with the heads of various departments at the meeting hall of District Administrative Complex Nawanshahr regarding the management of the Independence Day celebrations. SDM Nawanshahr Dr. Akshita Gupta was also present with him on this occasion. During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) assigned the duties of the officers of different departments for various tasks And he instructed to carry out the assigned responsibility seriously and diligently. He said that on the district level independence day, the national flag hoisting ceremony will be performed by the chief guest and salute will be taken from the march past contingent. He said that the march past will include Punjab Police, NCC and detachments from various schools. He instructed the District Education Officer that the cultural program to be organized on August 15 should be based on the spirit of patriotism or reflect the cultural heritage of the country and the state. He further instructed that the rehearsals of the event to be conducted in connection with the Independence Day should be conducted at the ground of ITI Nawanshahr. He instructed that the entire arrangements of the event should be carried out in a smooth and beautiful manner. He said that on the occasion of Independence Day, apart from those who have made special achievements in sports, education and other fields, officers and employees who have made high achievements with hard work, perseverance will also be honored. He instructed the officials of the police department to arrange the traffic route, parking etc. with special attention to the convenience of the people at the venue of the ceremony so that there is no traffic problem. He also ordered the task force officer to make proper arrangements for cleaning, de-fogging etc. at the stadium. They should appoint a civil surgeon and a team of doctors at the venue. District officers and related employees of various departments were present on this occasion.
