Meanwhile, ADC(j) Rajeev Verma, SDM Nawanshahr Akshita Gupta, SDM Banga Vikramjit Singh Panthe, SDM Ravinder Singh Bansal along with chief district officers were present.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to ensure the installation of Wi-Fi cameras at every chemist's shop and to ensure that medicines are not dispensed without a doctor's prescription. He said that strict action will be taken against the violators.
He urged the officials of the department to work together for the success of the "Drug Free India Campaign" by 2024 while emphasizing on awareness raising. He said that the District Social Security Department in collaboration with other agencies is effectively implementing this campaign through a series of activities designed to highlight the dangers of drugs.
He said that anyone can report drug-related activities confidentially on the helpline number 9988 30 3232. This helpline is an important tool in the district's efforts to curb the supply and distribution of drugs.
