Shravan Ashtami fair in Shri Chintapurni from 5th to 14th August

The temple will remain open 24 hours for devotees - DC Una, July 9- Shravan Ashtami fair will be organized from 5 to 14 August at Mata Shri Chintapurni temple, the famous Shaktipeeth of North India. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal held a meeting of the concerned officials at Maidas Sadan Chintapurni on Tuesday and gave necessary guidelines for the successful organization of the fair.

Una, July 9- Shravan Ashtami fair will be organized from 5 to 14 August at Mata Shri Chintapurni temple, the famous Shaktipeeth of North India. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal held a meeting of the concerned officials at Maidas Sadan Chintapurni on Tuesday and gave necessary guidelines for the successful organization of the fair.
He said that during the Shravan Ashtami fair, ADC Una has been appointed as the Fair Officer, SDM Amb as the Assistant Fair Officer, while ASP Una has been appointed as the Police Fair Officer and DSP Amb as the Assistant Police Fair Officer.
The Deputy Commissioner said that during the fair, the temple of Mata Shri Chintapurni will remain open for devotees 24 hours a day. The temple will be closed for only one hour during the night for cleaning. The temple will also remain closed for some time in the afternoon for the decoration and offering of the mother etc.
Permission will have to be taken to set up anchor
Jatin Lal said that permission to organize langar during Shravan Ashtami fair will be obtained from the concerned SDM. The organizer will also have to ensure cleanliness after the completion of the langar. He said that during the fair, DFSC Una will regularly inspect the quality of food items.
Action will be taken for violating the rules
Jatin Lal said that during the fair, there will be a complete ban on playing drums, tongs, loudspeakers etc. and on the use of plastic and thermocol. Apart from this, there will be a complete ban on coming to Mata Shri Chintapurni Temple through goods vehicles. He said that action will be taken as per rules against those who violate the rules.
The area will be divided into ten sectors
The Deputy Commissioner said that the fair area will be divided into ten sectors to maintain law and order during the fair. For security purposes, teams of quick action force along with police and home guard personnel will be deployed in sufficient numbers. A police commando squad will also be formed to maintain law and order and deal with emergency situations. All the actors will be monitored from the control room.
All arrangements have been made for the convenience of the devotees
Jatin Lal said that during the fair, temporary toilets will be built at various places to maintain cleanliness and recovery vans will be deployed to deal with traffic problems. Begging will also be completely banned and regular inspections will be done by the teams of the District Child Protection Officer. Allopathic and Ayurvedic camps will be set up at various places to provide medical facilities to the devotees in the fair. Fire fighting vehicles will be deployed to deal with any disaster or fire incident etc.
The Deputy Commissioner said that adequate drinking water facility will be made available to the devotees during the fair period. He also directed the Public Works Department officials to repair the roads before the fair begins. He said that it will be mandatory for the devotees coming to the fair to take a Darshan slip.
He directed the private inn managers to ensure installation of fire fighting equipment in the inns. He said that the administration will also get them checked. He asked the Electricity Department to ensure necessary maintenance of power lines to keep the power supply smooth during the fair period so that there is no inconvenience during the fair. Apart from this, he also directed to ensure installation of additional street lights temporarily during the fair. He informed that drinking water stalls will also be set up during the fair. He directed the Jal Shakti Department to also ensure chlorination of water storage tanks to provide clean drinking water to the devotees.
SP Rakesh Singh, ADC Mahendra Pal Gurjar, SDM Amb Vivek Mahajan and other officials were present in the meeting.
