The event at Bhargava Auditorium was well attended by former directors, deans, and key functionaries, including Prof. Dr. O. N. Bhakoo, Prof. Jagat Ram, Prof. D. Behera, and Prof. G. D. Puri. Lt. Gen. Daljit Singh, an esteemed alumnus and Chief Guest, emphasized the importance of uplifting the nation by honoring the legacy of PGI's founding fathers.

He stressed that doctors must embody devotion, dedication, and selflessness, rejecting selfish practices. Drawing parallels between PGIMER and the Armed Forces Medical Services, Singh praised the institute's role in shaping healthcare professionals with discipline and excellence. He commended the Armed Forces Medical Services for their swift response and exemplary service in challenging conditions, highlighting their resilience and compassion in both peacetime and crises. Prof. Vivek Lal, Director of PGIMER, reflected on the institute’s transformation from a small entity to a beacon of knowledge, attributing its success to the visionary leadership of its founders and the dedication of its staff. He highlighted the institute’s strengths in producing exceptional teachers and students, and its global alumni network. Prof. Lal praised the diligent work of the PGIMER team amidst growing patient burdens, emphasizing that every staff member’s dedication keeps the institute running smoothly. The event concluded with the recognition of thirty outstanding employees who were honored by Lt. Gen. Singh and Prof. Lal for their exceptional service, receiving certificates and mementos. Prof. R.K. Ratho, Dean (Academics), proposed the vote of thanks, marking the formal closure of the event. The celebration underscored PGIMER’s enduring commitment to medical excellence, service, and the spirit of its founding principles.
