Private development and other construction related works in the district will be banned till September 16 - DC

Una, July 5 - There will be a ban on cutting of hills for any kind of private development and construction activities except for the reconstruction of disaster-affected buildings and roads in the district till September 16. This order has been issued by the Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and District Magistrate Una, Jatin Lal, under Section 33 and 34 of the Disaster Management Act 2005.

Una, July 5 - There will be a ban on cutting of hills for any kind of private development and construction activities except for the reconstruction of disaster-affected buildings and roads in the district till September 16. This order has been issued by the Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and District Magistrate Una, Jatin Lal, under Section 33 and 34 of the Disaster Management Act 2005.
He said that irregular mountain cutting and unplanned construction work will be prohibited during the monsoon season. Due to such activities, the ground layers become loose or weak and the risk of loss of life and property also increases. In this regard, he has asked all the SDMs of the district to ensure strict compliance of these orders. He said that if people violate these orders, strict action will be taken under the Disaster Management Act 2005.
