In this context, a special meeting of the Gram Sabha is being organized in all the Gram Panchayats on July 13 with the aim of declaring all the villages of Una district open defecation free and model.

In this context, a special meeting of the Gram Sabha is being organized in all the Gram Panchayats on July 13 with the aim of declaring all the villages of Una district open defecation free and model.
Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal said that under the guidelines of Swachh Bharat Mission, a proposal of the Gram Sabha is mandatory before declaring a village as open defecation free and model. He said that along with making the village open defecation free, the village is also to be made ideal in terms of better management of various major components like solid and liquid waste management, grey water management, biodegradable waste management and plastic waste management. He said that most of the villages of Himachal Pradesh have completed the necessary protocol to become open defecation free model. Due to this, a special Gram Sabha meeting has been scheduled in Una district to make the village open defecation free and model.
He appealed to the local villagers to participate in large numbers in this special meeting of Gram Sabha so that the target set under Swachh Bharat Mission could be achieved.
