Nawanshahr - Animal Husbandry Subject Expert during Dairy Farming Training - Associate Professor (Animal Science) from Krishi Science Center, Ropar, Dr. Aparna Gupta, Associate Professor (Animal Science) from Krishi Science Center, Hoshiarpur, Dr. Parminder Singh and Krishi Science Center, Demonstrator (Animal Science) from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Dr. Gurinder Singh gave the learners basic information about dairy farming, breeds of dairy cattle, structure of sheds, different methods of dairy farming, feeding, summer and winter cattle and Care of calves/calves, prevention and treatment of major livestock diseases and economics of dairy farming were shared in detail.
Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Assistant Professor (Crop Science) from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, gave information to the students about taking green fodder throughout the year. During this training, the Dairy Inspector from the Dairy Development Department, Mr. Ram Sharan, gave detailed information to the trainees about the livestock insurance and loan financing schemes being run by the government and the department. During this course, the trainees are exposed to manual work on a dairy farm such as animal handling, feeding and watering, administering medication, injecting for vaccination, horning of heifers, testing for udder swelling and Also imparted practical knowledge on metal scrap production at farm level. At the end of the training, Associate Director (Training), Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Dr. Maninder Singh Bounce, shared important points regarding the success of dairy farming with the trainees. He encouraged the farms to participate more and more in trainings on various subjects organized by KVK. He wished the trainees success in dairy farming and thanked them for participating in this training.
