To celebrate the World Blood Donor Day, Thalassemic Charitable Trust (TCT), PGIMER in coordination with the department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER organized Mega Blood Donation Camp in the Community Center, PGIMER, Chandigarh on 15th June, 2024 in which around 350 noble volunteer donors came forward to donate blood.
Prof.(Dr.) R.K. Ratho, Sub-Dean (Research) and Head, Department of Virology, PGIMER, Chandigarh inaugurated the Blood Donation Camp alongwith thalassaemic kids by cutting cake. He was accompanied by Prof. Vipin Kaushal, Medical Superintendent, Prof. R.R. Sharma, Prof. Ashish Jain, Dr.Raman Sharma and other Senior Faculty of PGIMER, Chandigarh. Mr. Rohit Sharma Asstt. General Manager, State Bank of India, Medical Institute Branch, PGIMER, Chandigarh accompanied by his officers and staff also visited the camp.
It was the 300th Blood Donation Camp of this Trust and more than 200 blood donors donated the blood in this camp.
At the end Prof. R.R. Sharma, Head, Department of Transfusion Medicine and Sh. Rajinder Kalra, Member Secretary of the Trust thanked all the blood donors and emphasised the need for voluntary blood donation to save precious lives in need of blood support.
