Hoshiarpur - A grand Kavi Darbar was organized at the District Language Office, Hoshiarpur on the directions of Director Language Department, Patiala. It was presided over by Dr. Harpreet Singh, Head of Punjabi Department, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar, Assistant Public Relations Officer Lokesh Choubey, Kultar Singh Kultar and Jasbir Singh Dhiman.
Research Officer of Language Department, Dr. Jaswant Roy welcomed the guests, scholars and poets and shared the activities of the Language Department. Before the Kavi Darbar, tribute was paid by observing two minutes of silence to the famous Punjabi writers Surjit Patar, Mohanjit and Sukhjit who passed away forever.
After this, poets Dr. Shamsher Mohi, Kultar Singh Kultar, Jasbir Dhiman, Pammi Dwivedi, Anju V Rathi, Kundan Lal Bhatti, Tirth Chand Saroa, Rapi Rajeev, Ramnik Singh, Ajay Kumar, Paramjit Singh, Ravi Singh Bathinda, Davinder Singh spent time by presenting their poems, ghazals and songs in Tarannum.
Dr. Harpreet Singh gave his comments on the presented works and shared the emotional narratives of contemporary poetry in detail. Creating a learning environment for new writers, he shared many points about making historical events a part of the works through classic methods. On this occasion, story collection 'Doobde Suraj Da Aks' by storyteller Harbhajan Singh Katharvi, children's poetry collection 'Sedh Nishane' by Anju V Rathi and poetry collection 'Yaadan Je Na Hundiyan' by Happy Rajeev were presented to the public.
The chief guests, scholars and poets were felicitated with Bhai Kanh Singh Nabha Mahan Kosh, sets of books and shawls. Inspector Gurpreet Singh, Lovepreet, Lal Singh, Pushpa Rani, Prabhdeep Singh, Gurpreet Singh Mansa, Virinder Kumar Rathi, Robin, Amandeep Singh were present on this occasion. During this, Assistant Public Relations Officer Lokesh Choubey thanked everyone. During the program, the role of the stage was played by Dr. Jaswant Roy very well.
