Nawanshahr - Dr. Akshita Gupta, IAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate Nawanshahr to Sub Divisional Officer Nawanshahr, Drains Department, Nawanshahr, Implementation Officer, Municipal Council, Nawanshahr/Rahon, District Education Officer, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Assistant Food Supply Officer, A meeting was held with BDPOs, and Tehsildar.
In the meeting, they issued instructions to the Sub-Divisional Officer, Drains Department, Nawanshahr and Implementation Officer, Nagar Council Nawanshahr/Rahon regarding the cleaning of drains/channels/sewerage to deal with the flood situation. The Tehsildar, Nawanshahr was directed to set up a flood control room at the sub-division level and to be in touch with the Nangal Dam officials, so that the general public can be alerted to any flood situation if water is released from the dam at any time. To shift from the flood affected area to relief centers established nearby.
The Assistant Food Supply Officer was asked to arrange food rations, gas cylinders, petrol/diesel for the convenience of the general public to deal with the flood situation. Orders were given to the Deputy Director, Department of Animal Husbandry, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar for provision of medicine and green fodder to the animals. Finally, the general public was appealed to contact the flood control number 01823-299016 at sub division level Nawanshahr during the flood situation. So that the general public can be helped in time.
