Garhshankar June 24 - Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Matritav Abhiyan has been launched to ensure quality antenatal care to over three crore pregnant women in the country. Under this campaign, beneficiaries are provided a minimum package of antenatal care services (including tests and medicines) on the 9th and 23rd of every month.

Accordingly, as yesterday 23rd was a holiday, an examination camp was organized today at Primary Health Center Posi. Giving information in this regard, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Raghbir Singh said that Prime Minister Suraksha Matritav Abhiyan is a new initiative of the Government of India. Under which comprehensive and quality maternity care is ensured on 9th of every month to all pregnant women and on 23rd to high risk pregnant women.
Under this campaign, pregnant women are provided with a minimum package of antenatal services at government health centers during their second and third trimesters of pregnancy (after 4 months of pregnancy). He said that today 37 Pregnant women were screened.
The main feature of this program is that antenatal check-up services will be provided by specialists/medical officers.
On this occasion, Dr. Maria Joginder Kaur LHV, Surjit Kaur, Daljit Kaur, ANM examined the pregnant women.
