
Strict action should be taken against drug traffickers: DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar
Patiala, June 17 - As per the guidelines of Director General Police, Punjab Chandigarh, DIG Patiala Range Harcharan Singh Bhullar held a meeting with the SSPs of four districts Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala and Malerkotla under Patiala range to improve police methodology and prevention of drugs.
Patiala, June 17 - As per the guidelines of Director General Police, Punjab Chandigarh, DIG Patiala Range Harcharan Singh Bhullar held a meeting with the SSPs of four districts Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala and Malerkotla under Patiala range to improve police methodology and prevention of drugs. Instructed that in order to keep the police personnel alert and correct the police work, transfers/deployments of all employees from constable rank to inspector rank should be done as per the Punjab Police Rules and the transfer policy issued by the office of DGP Punjab. And police personnel of any rank and Punjab Home Guard jawans shall not be posted in their residential sub-division. Under which the SSPs under the Patiala range have been heavily reshuffled in their respective districts. In which a total of 916 personnel from constable to inspector rank have been transferred, in which 537 police personnel have been transferred from SSP Patiala, 188 from SSP Sangrur, 118 from SSP Barnala and 73 from SSP Malerkotla.
Apart from this, the employees of Assistant Thanedar to Inspector rank who are covered under the transfer policy have also been transferred from one district to another district of Patiala range. It is also clarified here that as per the instructions and guidelines issued by the Election Commission and the Director General of Police, Punjab in relation to the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, employees of SI and Inspector rank who have three years of service in a district and Being a residential district, Patiala was transferred to other districts of the range.
DIG Patiala Range Patiala held a meeting with all the SSPs, SPs and DSPs under his authority and instructed that as per the orders of DGP Punjab, a solid action system should be prepared by adopting a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and organized crime. Under which constant surveillance should be kept on drug hotspots and random checking of habitual criminals through raids/radar and operations should be carried out in a planned manner and strict action should be taken against drug smugglers and sources and consumers should also be arrested as per the code. He ordered the SSPs that no policeman, who is involved in corruption or in any way with drug peddlers, should be spared. Exemplary punishment should be ensured by taking departmental action against such black sheep as per rules. All the officers and chief officers were asked to interact with the people, behave with good manners and also as per the orders of DGP Punjab all circle officers, chief police station officers and in-charge posts are to be present at their office on daily working days and at 11 am. From 1 pm to 1 pm was ordered to listen and settle the complaints of the citizens.
