Nawanshahr - The Guru Nanak Mission Service Society, continuously promoting the services started by it for the needy families, a skilled woman of village Mahalon was presented with a commercial sewing machine by the society to run her home business.
While sharing this information, Surjit Singh, the chief servant of the society, said that while many services have been started by the society for social welfare work, commercial sewing machines are being provided to the needy women for running their own jobs since the past. He said that this sewing machine was given to a needy woman who got married a short time ago. The girl who came from Phagwara to village Mahalon after getting married, realizing the weak economic condition of her in-laws family, decided that she would contribute by sewing clothes to improve the condition of her family. was finding it difficult to realize his dream as despite being skilled, he could not afford to buy a machine.
When the Guru Nanak Mission Service Society came to know about the condition of that family, the society decided to provide them with a sewing machine. Recently, during the honor ceremony of meritorious school children by the society, under the leadership of Giani Sarabjit Singh, the Guru Nanak Mission Seva Society presented a sewing machine to that woman. This woman named Gurpreet Kaur thanked the society and said that she is very happy that now she will help her husband and in-laws in improving the economic condition of their family by doing sewing work.
