Khanauri (Patiala), June 10 – A five-member delegation of All India Trinamool Congress MPs met farmers protesting at the Haryana Khanauri border against the central government over several issues including the minimum support price of crops. These people included MPs Derek O'Brien, Mohammad Nadimul Haque, Dola Sen, Sagarika Ghosh and Saket Gokhale.

On this occasion, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee also talked to the farmers over the phone. They have also been assured of all possible help. He said that he will raise the issue of farmers' demands in the Lok Sabha. NDA government should pay attention. Along with this, they have demanded that the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the center should fulfill the demands of the farmers. He said that the demands of the farmers are legitimate. The government should take this issue seriously. This struggle of farmers of Punjab over the minimum support price of crops has been going on since February. The farmers wanted to go to Delhi but the Haryana government stopped them at the border. After this, the farmers have put up a firm front there. It is to be mentioned here that the farmer Shubkaran Singh died on the Khanuri border and the committee constituted by the High Court is investigating the matter.
