Hoshiarpur - District Magistrate Komal Mittal has announced the 1st June 2024 paid holiday for the employees and laborers working in all government/non-government offices, boards, corporations, educational institutions, banks, factories, shops located in the district regarding the Lok Sabha Elections-2024. 
The District Magistrate made the said declaration by exercising powers under Section 25 of the Negotiable Industries Act 1881 keeping in mind the legal provision made in the Representation of the People Act 1951, Section 135B, Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishment Act 1958 and the Factories Act 1948. He said that on June 1, all the voters can exercise their right to vote, for this purpose, paid leave has been made.
