District Magistrate declared dry day from May 30 at 6 pm to June 1 at 6 pm.

Hoshiarpur - On the instructions of the Election Commission of India, District Magistrate Komal Mittal has declared dry day from May 30 to June 1 at 6 pm and has ordered the closure of liquor shops within the district limits on June 4, the day of counting. And storage and sale of liquor by any person is completely banned.

Hoshiarpur - On the instructions of the Election Commission of India, District Magistrate Komal Mittal has declared dry day from May 30 to June 1 at 6 pm and has ordered the closure of liquor shops within the district limits on June 4, the day of counting. And storage and sale of liquor by any person is completely banned. 
These orders will also be fully applicable to hotels, restaurants, clubs and liquor premises where sale and consumption of liquor is legally permitted. The District Magistrate, in exercise of powers under Section 54 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1915, has prohibited the sale, possession and consumption of liquor etc. and serving of liquor in public places i.e. hotels, restaurants, clubs and bars  from 6 pm on May 30 to 6 pm on June 1 and on June 4, the day of counting of votes.
