
All schools will remain closed in Una district from 29th to 31st May
Una, 28 May - Due to the severe heat wave, it has been decided to keep all government and private schools closed in Una district from 29 to 31 May. This order will be applicable to pre-primary and primary schools as well as all secondary, higher and senior secondary schools. District Magistrate Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has issued orders in this regard, keeping in mind the health risks posed to the students due to the heat wave and the India Meteorological Department predicting similar conditions for the next few days.
Una, 28 May - Due to the severe heat wave, it has been decided to keep all government and private schools closed in Una district from 29 to 31 May. This order will be applicable to pre-primary and primary schools as well as all secondary, higher and senior secondary schools. District Magistrate Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has issued orders in this regard, keeping in mind the health risks posed to the students due to the heat wave and the India Meteorological Department predicting similar conditions for the next few days. .
Jatin Lal said that it has been observed that due to the continuation of operation of middle, high and senior secondary schools in the afternoon, cases of many students falling ill have been reported. Therefore, it has been decided to keep all government and private schools in the district from pre-primary to senior secondary schools closed till May 31 as a precautionary measure to avoid any emergency.
According to the order issued, school heads have been asked to ensure that in all the schools where there are polling stations, one teaching staff, one class IV or multi-purpose employee and mid-day meal employee are present on May 31 and June 1. In schools where examinations are scheduled between May 29 and 31, they should be conducted compulsorily between 7 am and 11 am. Schools will have to ensure provision of drinking water, shady areas and fans, coolers or air conditioning in the examination halls for students taking the exams. Apart from this, schools have been asked to ensure availability of first aid kits and a doctor or nurse for immediate treatment in case of heat stroke. Instructions have also been given to provide proper information about emergency procedures to the school staff and students.
Jatin Lal has instructed the officials of the Education Department to ensure strict compliance with the order.
