As per the instructions of the Election Commission, the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) prescribed for the last 72 hours and 48 hours before the elections is being completely followed. As the voting day is nearing, the operations of election monitoring teams have been intensified.

Una, May 28 - District Election Officer Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that all the arrangements regarding voting in Una district are tight. As per the instructions of the Election Commission, the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) prescribed for the last 72 hours and 48 hours before the elections is being completely followed. As the voting day is nearing, the operations of election monitoring teams have been intensified. 15 flying squads and 17 static surveillance teams are continuously in the field in the district. Every activity is being closely monitored. He gave this information in a meeting held through online medium from Hamirpur by senior IAS officer Shyam Lal Poonia, General Observer of the Election Commission. During this time, Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh also stayed with him in the NIC room of the Deputy Commissioner's office, Una. At the same time, Expenditure Supervisor IRS officer Dr. Kundan Yadav joined Gagret in the online meeting.
In the meeting, General Supervisor Shyam Lal Poonia took details of election preparations from the officials and gave necessary guidelines. Expenditure Supervisor Dr. Kundan Yadav gave guidelines to be more vigilant regarding expenditure monitoring in the last phase of elections.
Jatin Lal also informed about the arrangements made for counting of votes in the district. He also gave information about the arrangements made for the movement plan, storage and security of EVM and VVPAT machines in the strong room after voting.
Till now 3736 people have done home voting
District Election Officer said that so far 3736 voters have cast their vote in Una district taking advantage of the facility of exercising their franchise from their homes. The home voting process in the district has started from May 21, in which mobile polling teams are getting eligible voters to vote while ensuring that they follow the entire protocol of the Election Commission. So far, 2621 voters above 85 years of age and 1115 disabled voters have voted in this campaign. Let us tell you that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, voting is being conducted in the district from voters above 85 years of age and disabled voters who have opted to exercise their franchise from their homes. This work will be done in the district till May 29. Jatin Lal said that till now 614 eligible voters in Chintpurni assembly constituency, 396 in Una, 1096 in Kutlahar, 548 in Haroli and 1082 in Gagret have exercised their franchise through home voting.
At the same time, Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh said that the police in the district is working with full vigilance in view of the elections. Round the clock monitoring is being done through 25 checkpoints. Every activity is also being monitored through CCTV cameras.
