The 12th (North zone) “Advanced CME on Pharmacovigilance / Materiovigilance and Coordinators Meeting” concluded successfully at the Department of Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, under the stewardship of Professor Bikash Medhi (PvPI & MvPI Coordinator), spanning on 25th of May 2024 in a hybrid mode. The highlights of the program were the Current Regulation of Pharmacovigilance program of India along with the Materiovigilance program of India and its practical implementations, recent updates on signal recommendations to CDSCO by PvPI and MvPI.
The 12th (North zone) “Advanced CME on Pharmacovigilance / Materiovigilance and Coordinators Meeting” concluded successfully at the Department of Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, under the stewardship of Professor Bikash Medhi (PvPI & MvPI Coordinator), spanning on 25th of May 2024 in a hybrid mode. The highlights of the program were the Current Regulation of Pharmacovigilance program of India along with the Materiovigilance program of India and its practical implementations, recent updates on signal recommendations to CDSCO by PvPI and MvPI. A total of 382 registrations have been recorded from various regions across India. Of these, 45 registrations were conducted offline, while 337 were completed online.
The inauguration ceremony commenced with a cordial welcome address delivered by Professor Bikash Medhi, the PvPI & MvPI Coordinator. Distinguished luminaries including Prof. Y. K. Gupta (President, AIIMS Jammu), Dr Bhavneet Bharti (Director Principal, AIMS, Mohali), and Dr. Ajay Prakash (PvPI & MvPI Deputy Coordinator) graced the occasion and officially inaugurated the workshop.
The scientific sessions of the program featured insightful lectures from eminent experts such as Dr. R S. Ray (IPC, Ghaziabad), Professor Bikash Medhi (PGIMER, Chandigarh), Dr. Shatrunajay Shukla (IPC, Ghaziabad), Dr. Rubina Bose (CDSCO, Headquarters), Shri Aseem Sahu (CDSCO, Headquarters), Dr.Parminder Sharma (PGIMER, Chandigarh), Dr. Faisal TT (PGIMER, Chandigarh), Dr. Manjul Tripathi (PGIMER, Chandigarh), Dr. Bhavita Wadhwa (PGIMER, Chandigarh), Dr. Shilpa Sharma (Sun Pharma, New Delhi), Dr. Vivek Ahuja (EVERSANA, Gurugram), Dr. Surinder Bedi (Director, Indus Hospital, Chandigarh), Dr. N.C Bhavya (Abbott, Mumbai), Dr. Nitin James Peters (PGIMER, Chandigarh). Practical Demonstrations of ADRMS were discussed by Mr. Amol Raj (IPC, Ghaziabad).
The Valedictory Function was featured by Professor Bikash Medhi, the PvPI & MvPI Coordinator, and also delivered the comprehensive workshop report, while Dr. Ajay Prakash collated feedback from the participants. The program concluded with a vote of thanks extended by Dr. Ajay Prakash, expressing gratitude to all contributors and participants for their invaluable contributions and active engagement throughout the event.
