Mandi Gobindgarh, May 24 – Faculty of Dental Sciences, Desh Bhagat Dental College and Hospital celebrated World Orthodontic Day with the theme “Need for Speed”. The program was inaugurated by Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur. 
In his inaugural speech, Dr. Zora Singh said that we can learn anything well if we intend to do better. He emphasized the need for such programs to increase awareness about orthodontics. Dr. Einal Bhambri from Surendra Dental College and Research Institute, Sri Ganganagar was invited as the keynote speaker in this program. Dr. Bhambri explained the increasing demand for rapid orthodontic treatment due to busy lifestyles of patients. 
He also discussed piezosection, which is an effective surgical technique to shorten healing time. Principal Dr. Unti Pitale was also present on this occasion. A poster-presentation competition was also conducted for the students. Certificates were awarded to the winners.
