Nawanshahr - Today Indian Federation of Trade Unions (IFTU) and allied organizations protested in front of Police Station City Nawanshahr and ended the house arrest of IFTU state president Kulwinder Singh Waraich. Around one hundred workers protested in front of the police station for about 20 minutes and raised slogans against the AAP government and the police.

Speaking on the occasion, IFTU State Press Secretary Jasbir Deep said that his organization has already been saying that the Aam Aadmi Party is acting as the B team of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Which has been proven true today by house arresting the leaders and arresting them from their homes. These arrests are a clear proof of the undemocratic nature of the government itself. They said that the house arrest of Kulwinder Singh Waraich should be ended immediately and Gurbaksh Kaur Sangha should be released. DSP Nawanshahr Madhvi Sharma came to the spot and told that Gurbaksh Kaur Sangha has been released. They along with IFTU leaders went to the house of Kulwinder Singh Waraich and ended his house arrest by sending both the police officers stationed at his house. This detention and arrest was made in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jalandhar.
In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi coming to address the election rally in Jalandhar, the police did it. CPI (ML) New Democracy district leader Daljit Singh Advocate, Jamhuri Adhikar Sabha district Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar president Ashok Kumar, PSU provincial leader Baljit Singh Dharamkot, Istri Jagriti Manch leaders Ranjit Kaur Mehmood Pur, Narinderjit. Kaur Khatkar and Kiranjit Kaur, leader of the Rural Labor Union, strongly condemned these arrests.
He said that the police had raided his house at village Sanawa to arrest Kamaljit Sanawa, district leader of rural labor union, but he escaped arrest as he was not at home.
